Corner on the Square is a café/delicatessen situated at the heart of the community – both literally and figuratively – in the bustling Scottish village of Beauly, close to Inverness and Loch Ness, on the road that heads north into the Highlands.
We’re very visible on the corner of the High Street in Beauly Square, in the heart of the village’s commercial area – the ideal spot to pop in for a late breakfast or linger over a coffee.
We’re open 7 days, offering barista service and delicious locally produced coffee from Vandyke Brothers in Cromarty, along with a selection of home bakes and savoury treats. We are delighted to be kept busy by a stream of customers who range from local families and business people to passing tradesmen and tourists.
The COTS café has modern décor, bright and light – functional and welcoming, with a friendly atmosphere. On fine days you can opt to sit outdoors and watch the world go by from one of our pavement tables, where dogs are also welcome!
The rich aroma emanating from our espresso machine as our expert barista goes about preparing superb lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, Americanos or any other coffee or chocolate creation to order, will have your mouth watering.
We’ve got a range of tempting teas too – just ask for a recommendation, after all, life’s too boring if you don’t push the beverage boundaries occasionally.
If you’re having your drink to take out, or have the time to sit down and savour it in our dining area, you might want to pair it with a snack or nibble. Our fresh-baked cakes and cookies of the day are on display in our deli counter, where you can take your pick. We’re famous for our delicious fluffy fresh scones, served with House Chantilly cream and jam.
There’s also a selection of superb sandwiches available – toasted or plain – filled with all the regular favourites like ham and cheese, tuna mayo and coronation chicken. The difference is that here at COTS our sandwich fillings are made with top quality locally sourced ingredients, slathered onto Cromarty granary or gluten-free bread, or sourdough. A popular good value option is our soup and sandwich combo.
COTS café gives you a great excuse to prolong your grocery shop. While you’re enjoying your coffee morning (or afternoon) you can enjoy sizing up our local produce – the freshest fruit and veg you’ve ever seen. We’ve also got meat and dairy available, and a streamlined range of grocery and baked goods, mostly from local producers, that you won’t find in the regular supermarkets.
You can also find out about any upcoming evening events we may have planned – like cheese and wine tastings or our Burns Night Special – and book in advance to secure your spot.
We’re a coffee shop with a difference, where you can not only drink, eat, meet and greet but also stock up with the essentials.
